Hi, just wondering if you are able to have a pair of red rumps in the same avairy as a pair of bourkes? I have seen it doen before with no problem but have also read from a few places the red rumps are aggresive. Just wondering what you all think.
thanks

Hi mortpheus21, I would not do this. They do tend to be an agressive birds...But some are lucky to get away with..But I have seen them bred with bigger birds in avairys...But it is a thing that I would not do...

Hi, Might depend on the size of the overall avairy. I've seen red-rumps co-habiting nicely with similar size birds but in an avairy about 6 metres square. The owner then modified the avairy to 4 narrower ones and all hell broke loose when he tried to put the red-rumps back with some of the same birds. I don't think I'd do it unless you were putting them in with larger birds............wedge tail eagles Viraba

During the mateing season Red Rumps are aggresive and I wouldnt keep them with Bourkes or any other bird that is smaller than the Red Rumps. They are very aggressive and would attack the bourkes.
