Hi Vicki those streaks of red are generally related to some form of stress especially in lutino's.Sometimes the bird wont show any behaviour signs but even little things such as removing a nestbox or change of enviroment, rearing young can have an effect don't let it worry you too much cheers Frank

I agree Anna. You can see the orange cheekpatch starting to show and the yellow near the beak...certainly a normal grey! Sorry Vicki but no whiteface there!! Jo-Anne

The down is yellow too - you can still see the little tufts on the ends of the pin-feathers. Gorgeous little man though! (looks like a boy!) - Claire

Nope not weird at all!!! I actually got my first ever normal grey baby a few months ago and it was really exciting. I had paired all my birds up to get certain colours and normal grey wasn't one of my options. I had a pair that were excellent foster parents but never gave me any fertile eggs....they always missed that one important step necessary for fertile eggs ....well finally they got it right and gave me one baby...a normal grey male......I have never been so excited over a chick! Looks like it's possible it may be the last too as the male has had a memory lapse again and he's forgetting the fun bits!!!!!LOL Jo-Anne
