Well I made the big step today and acquired 3 show cages! So now I have them I darn well better use them as I hate wasted money! Is there any of you out there that show birds? If so would you all mind sharing some hints and tips on preparing birds for shows. The first one won't be until March next year but I plan on being prepared and want an early start! Jo-Anne

Good Luck Jo-Anne it is a really exciting thing to get into, mind you it can get a bit intense too, my advice is stay with showing at your bird clubs to start with and work your way up to the bigger shows.

Thanks for the warning John. My aim is to stay with the ANCS bird shows here in Brissy. They have only 2 a year...one in March/April and one in about September. I have been to a few and just looked so i have a bit of an idea what goes on. All I need to know now is how to prepare the birds. Like what to feed to get the best look and whether they need bathing or whatever! I have only ever shown horses before so I get the feeling I have a lot to learn as I don't think a bird would appreciate being tied to a wash bay and shampooed!!LOL Jo-Anne
