I have a question on breeding dirtyface pied tiels for all those breeders out there. I was told by someone that if you have a dirtyface pied that comes from a line a clear face pied birds that it is ok to use it breeding and that it will give you a majority of clear face babies. From my personal experience I have found a dirty face pied bird gives dirty face babies! Am I wrong or is someone just pulling my chain? Jo-Anne

Hi Jo-Anne my breeding results tell me that a dirty faced pied will pass on Clear faced Pieds but they are far and few between and if your intention is to breed Clear faced then steer clear of others ,.p.s some dont mind the dirty face but most seroius breeders prefer clear faced, tails and chest if possible!! Hmmmm.....I also prefer the clear face and chest as it seems you do too! I was told yesterday that a dirty face bird I was shown had come from a long line of clear-faced birds and so wuld throw more clearface than dirty! I was a bit dubious but I haven't tested it out to know. Looks like I will have to find a clear face pied male for my girl then! Jo-Anne
