I could be worrying over nothing here.I gave my birds a shower with a spary bottle and i have notice that rebal has a bold spot on his chest his not plucking i' m thinking angel might have did it or it could just be that the water on his feathers have sperated making it look that him or angel has plucked some feathers out.
I'm also worried about angels weight she seems to be staying at 85grams shes not putting anymore weight on.Shes 5 months old.Could she just be a small cockatiel and will this be trouble when i go to breed her with rebal. Rebal is 9 weeks old and weighs 89grams.

Sounds like Rebal is going through a molt. Some birds lose a lot of feathers on the chest.

Thanks petiel i think it was just the water.I know angel through a molt she has alot of white feathers coming off her. I give my birds a shower once a week is this too much for them.
Rebal was yawning for at least 5 seconds i thought something was wrong but once i picked him up he stoped it.He isn't fluffed up all showing any signs of ill health, his weight gain is great.

A shower once a week should be fine, my lovebirds sometimes bathe everyday

When my birds are going through a molt I give them a spray with the water daily, it helps with the molt.

Hi Tara, I don't think you have to worry about Angels weight. As all birds are different some will weigh more than others. I have found that when I am h/rearing my baby tiels that my males usually weigh more than females by about 5 grams & I have had some females especially the lutino ones, that weigh about that. I think you will find that when she hits her full maturity at 3 years of age she will be okay. I think it would be best if you waited to angel was nearly 2 to breed her, just to be on the safe side. As long as she is bright eyed & bushytailed, don't worry tooo much. Cheers Anna
