I was checking the nest boxes this morning and I have brand new white face babies, only two so far but there are still three eggs in the box and they are sitting tight on them, I love this time of the year. ;D

The new babies are doing well and there are still only two but the strange thing about these babies is they are pure white. The last lot were completely different in colour and were predominately Grey in colour, it was evident form the day they hatched that they would have a lot of Grey on them, I could see it in the skin, but these little ones are pure white so far.

I have 4 babies in the nest as of yesterday, I thought i was going to loose one but i got it in time and it is going very well. I just missed seeing one of the eggs actually hatch out of the egg yesterday, bugger, never mind there is till one egg left in the nest. They all still look white and the eyes are black so i reckon it's a case of wait and see what colour they turn out, the thing I cant work out is that the last clutch, even at the early stage, were Grey in colour and eventually turned out all Grey with white flashes on the body the same as the parents.

Hi John its highly likely you have whitefaced reverse pieds if so then it confirms both parents are split to pied ;)cheers Frank
