hello all i would like to introduce you to some of my babied that i have been keeping a secret the reason for it was because the male died and before the female finished laying let alone start incubating the eggs but any way the female with the help of a young male (he started helping feed her and caring for the babies)they have managed to raise these guys so far here is a couple of pics of the babies here is the oldest one the second baby not sure but i think it may be a whiteface and the third baby question for all in this pic i see that the baby had blue on the wings is that normal for a green bird i am not sure what the colours are but i think they look good hope you enjoy regards bill

Good to hear the young male did a good job helping out the Hen.
Pic 1 & 2 - Jade Pic 3 & 4 - Cobalt Whiteface Blue Pic 5 & 6 - Jade. It may be Pied, i can see a bit of yellow but can't be too sure yet. The Blue on the wings is not normal, they may disappear when the bird moults or they may stay there. Either way, it is just a genetic defect and you will not be able to breed babies with blue on the wings. It is just one of those things. A bit like a half sider.

It all depends on what the parents are. They could be split to Whiteface Blue or Dutch Blue

Congratulations Bill. They are all beautiful. I have a jade hen, which Jeremy bred, plus a whitefaced blue hen, a slate hen and two cinnamon cocks. What beautiful birds lovies are!
