Peanut is probably just enjoying ripping up the paper and having fun. How early do they mature?? Ekkies don't normally mature until around 2 years of age.......maybe around 3ish but Skye was "playing house" (ripping up newspaper) from around 9 months of age.

Getting in some practice LOL When it is nesting time is it only the girls who do this or do boys do it as well? I know the girls stuff the paper down over their rump.

i think both partners build a nest when it comes to lovie, only the femal will stuff paper under there feathers but ;D lovies mature quite early and lots of people breed them while quite young- i thnk id rather wait until they were atleast 1 &half or two before i bred though

Megan, Lovies do like shedding paper, irrespective of making a nest. It might have nothing to do with the latter. from Robert and Angel

Sam likes to shred his paper and stuff it in his water bowl - along with everything else that will fit!

Lol Bicki has never shredded paper before, and I hear lovebirds mature at around 4 months? (I could have mistaken that 4 with a 9)
I reckon its just for fun!

Well Sam is 6 months old and has been mating with his toy bell balls for probably about a month now. Very off putting as he whistles until you go to his cage and then you go "oh Sam! stop it!" which of course he doesn't until he's done.
