Are you sure you have a pair? It's not easy to sex lories and you may have two hens. Have they bred before for you?

Thanks John for your interest, I am assured by the person who sold them to me that they were a pair but I wonder now! Although I have a pair of rainbows that are doing the same thing and I know they are a pair! My scalies had two lots of eggs before they made it with one baby. I give them fruit & veg and lory food, I don't know what else I can do.

Lories are mainly nectre eaters but they do like fruit, try some flowers that have nectre like bottle brush or grevillia. I know it is not possible to sex Lories by sight and I was calling mine "he" until "she" laid an egg. If the hen keeps laying and nothing comes of the eggs I would say you havn't got a true pair. Let her keep trying it may be that she is just inexperianced. Good luck and keep us informed. Just a side issue here any one that tells you they can sex a lorie by sight is either phsycic or a stranger to the truth.
