I have a baby scaly 3 weeks old. His/her skin is very yellow not pink like normal . Bit like jaundice in human babies. Happy and healthy otherwise. Any clues!!

what are you feeding the baby ? if your feeding baby food that is high in carotene that can cause the skin to go yellow and its not a problem one of the other causes is a liver problem and young birds can die quickly from this tanya

Little scaly is doing well, still being fed by mum & dad. It has all it;s wing feathers and head feathers and starting to get body cover. It is quite lively and I'm hoping it's a female so I can put it in with my linely boy (he lost his mate recently). Otherwise I will be looking to swap for a hen. Thanks for your interest! Cheers!

RIP Baby scaly. It was doing well and had left the nest, and observed eating by himself. Mum & Dad wanted to breed again which they have (1 baby ) 3 days old. I took the fledgling out of the aviary and put it in with another scaly cock and 2 weeks later it was dead. Don't know what happened no marks on it. It was very thin so suspect the cock bird was stopping it from eating.
