This little guy is doing really well and today has been nibbleing on a bit of fruit so I made a necter mix out of the lorry mix and stewed apple and he has been drinking that quite a bit, my question is how long can I leave it in the box with him will it go off in the heat? he seems to be really filling up on it, do I need to still feed him with the handraising mix, he seems to be a bit little to eat by himself but lorries are different to ringnecks. he is now fully feathered and his tail feathers are nearly an inch long. appreciate the greatadvice here.

Thats great..Yes do will start to eat on there own very early...If he/she is fully feathered now..I would start to think about dropping the dep...If it is warm up there..You mite find that he/she will be able to go to a cage right away...I would just give him/her enought to fill a crop full...leave for about 30 minutes....If you find that he/she is eating enough by it's self...I would cut the feeding down to three or two...Just replace one of the feeding with what you are doing..You mite find that he/she will do this for every feed...keep on eye on the weight...and if you have dry lorry, put that in and water as well.when in the cage..you can leave this in there at all times...with bits of fruits as well...remove fruit with in a few hours...
