Catey tell mum to go to the pet shop and get some Lorikeet mix. If it is a baby you may have to hand feed it for a while so you will need to add some soluvet or another vitamin to the mix, I would start off giving it three or four feeds a day depending on how young it is. Mum will need to heat the mix before she feeds the little one. Keep it warm and in a dark place until it gets over the ant bites. Keep us informed of how you are going.
John
PS The baby food apple is a good idea until you can get the Lori mix

Hi John Kim here cant seem to log in even with that password, tried Kim Allen and kimallen usernames but I must be doing something wrong. Cate says to mix some honey in this little fellows food but I don't have any so should I mix a bit of brown sugar with the apple or just feed apple till tomorrow? poor little fellow is very stressed.

Just fed him and he lapped up 12 mils his crops not completely full I don't think and I'm not sure how much lorrikeets eat but hopefully this will help him gain some strength, if he was a ringneck I'd say he was about 5 weeks old any idea how much is a good amount? its hard to feel his crop as he is to frightened so I just fed him untill he stopped going for it, although he didn't open his mouth wide I syringed itin the side and his little tongue was working at 100 miles an hour so he was hungry

The little guy is still alive today, he is bright eyed and has regained some of his energy (he can bite) but thats good I didn't mind being bitten it shows he is feeling better, doesn't bite hard anyway as he's such a bubba. he's eating well so fingers crossed and we are on the way to recovery.

Ok we are really on our way now, all the swelling from the green ant bite has gone down, and he already knows I'm the food factory, he has really come out of his shell, the kids all wanted to keep him and where very upset when I said we would have to release him in a few weeks, but Catey had a little cuddle and discovered why they are called squirters, they all decided to stick with ringnecks and now when Cate wants to hold him she wraps herself in a very large towel!

I found a pale head a little while ago..It was all fluffed up sitting on the feeder for the wild ones...Poor thing,I just walked up and grabed it..A bit thin. And it is only a young one as well..still has the pale stripes on the under wings..This one was a pet I would say..It has perch swores on the feet...Well I will be getting this one but to health..teaching him the wild foods...
