Hi, I was wondering if anyone had used a product called Harmony Lorikeet Nector. It says on the bottle to attract wild lorries to your garden but would it be ok for my pet rainbow as I dont own a juicer and would like to give him some juice as a treat with water available as well of course. Any help appreciated

I use Harmony dry mix for my lorikeet and don't have any problems with it, they are a reputable company so I would say it is fine.

just be careful...it attracts ants like you wouldn't believe and I found in the heat up here it starts to go off.

My scaleys love the nectar, they get it for a treat. The label on the bottle reads after opening use within 7 days. I make up icecubes and give them a frozen iceblock. There is no waste and it last longer.

Dad uses this brand both for dry food and nectar and the lorikeets love it. It's the only brand of lorikeet food the Big W sells so it's also convinient. We also freeze it, it lasts for much longer.

The Harmony nectar is not a powder like Wombaroo or Passwell, it is made up in a bottle like juice. My lorikeets love it and so does my alexandrine. There is peach juice in it and also you can mix it with your dry mix.

^^ i agree, the harmony dry food is not suitable as a major part of the diet for a pet lory. It's fine for a wild one, because they are supplementing their diet with other things, but its quality is not high at all.

Mine get Sheps. Tracey maybe get another brand of lori mix like Sheps and mix the harmony with it that way he is getting the nutrients from the other mix as harmony has practically nothing in it. I wouldn't give him any seed either as seed can damage the papillae on the tongue.

Please -dont use Harmony !! Its deficient in proper nutrients , i have seen birds near death from this terrible food . Passwells and Wombaroo are certainly far superior properly formulated for Lorikeets and Lorys . and please , dont give it to the wild birds .
