I was wondering if anyone keeps their rainbows in the same cage. My 2 get along pretty well most of the time but in the last few days they have been fighting. Now the one who appeared to be dominant before gets bullied by the other one, he even appears to be scared sometimes. I think they're at least 8 months old, not sure what sex they are but they've been together for a while at their previous owners place.

I'm not sure Jules. I know that they are very boistrous in groups and that's why you don't keep lories in with other birds, cause they can play really roughly. I only have one and it dominates over me!

Hi I have two and need to keep them separate at all times if they are out as they just start fighting within minutes,But they go crazy if they can not see each other.I too would like to have them in one large cage,But I am guessing that they are of the same sex or jealous that makes them behave this way it also could be that one bird is more dominate as one is 2+ years and the other 1 year,Just hope over time they will get on. Cheers Cheeky guy

I have four Rainbows which I keep together. Two of them which are a pair (not sure whether male or female) but sleep together on the shelf at the back of the aviary, are very territorial and won't any other birds on that shelf. The other 2 couldn't care less. All in all there don't seem to be too many problems, they seem to sort themselves out. Also in that aviary are 3 ringnecks and 3 Crimson rosellas.

Thanks for that guys. I think that due to their age ( I think 8-12 months ) they are probably just working out pecking order and they do both get a bit jealous, when 1 comes over the other has to muscle in. They are so sweet and funny I can forgive them any squabbles unless it is too serious and someone gets hurt. Hahaha sounds like my son and daughter when they were younger.
