Hi as I eagerly await my babe, i would love any advice, hints bits of things you have tried and found to have worked from ringneck owners out there. I have read and have been told "they turn when they reach 12mnths", what this means I'm not entirely sure but I'm sure it must be different for each bird,
Looking forward to hearing from you

I believe that term is in reference to show if they are Male or Female. I know that Ringies show the ring around there neck at twelve months old, up to that point it's a bit difficult to tell the sex. I am also told that they dont become mature until at least a year old. I'm not a ringneck expert but i expect that someone will put me straight if im wrong.

Hi Sue,
Yes they can turn.Thats why I like the alexandrines better for a pet.It also depends on how they where rasied as well.Did they get a lot of cuddle time when young. What where the other birds that they mite have been raised with as well..But if you do have other birds in the house, watch out that they dont get to them. And yes not all are bad.You get good ones as well.Like any bird.

hi you need to spend alot of time with the baby when you get and and make sure it knows you are the boss. once it knows you are scared of it you will have trouble. like nat said the raising is very important so you want to make sure the person who is raising it doesnt just feed it and put it back in the box. they need time out of the box. cheers jamie
