Ok , so everyone I seem to speak to has told me that ringies do not make good pets and will eventually go through a biteing stage, my 6 that I raised last year, havn't bitten me yet but I need to know at what age are they supossed to go through this stage, my young children handle them all the time and I am always a little worried about this, as so many breeders have mentioned it, I'd hate them to start biteing, at the moment they are all the most darling pets you could get, but will they start to bite as they get closer to breeding age, if so can I prevent it? They are all 13 months old.

Hi Kim,
Not all of them end up biting..Just keep on what you are doing..They are last years breed. And they are still sweet.Sounds like you have some good ones there..only time will tell once they reach breeding age...If they do get a bit nippy at that time just let them go through it.It is not only ring necks that go through this stage..They do end up back to normal once there hormons are not going mad..
I have a female love bird that is as sweet as ever..but when she goes into brooding mode she will bite me lol...But that is not for to long..I just leave her alone for a little while..And she comes back to the sweet lovable girl again..

Yes Kim I agree with what Natalie has posted, I also advocate handling them as much as possible and spending as much time as possible having human contact. It sounds like you are doing the right thing just keep doing it ;D

Hi Kim, Ringnecks will only bite if you leave them in a cage all day everyday and dont get them out to play with. You are doing the right thing getting them out and playing with them, it shows because they have not started biting.
