there is a couple of genetic calculaters about on the net but there to hard to understand if your just starting out as the mutation names are different to what we call them - best idea is to ask here or buy a book.

Hi Sonya, Your pair of Lutino will give you 50% Lutino Cocks and 50% Lutino Hens. And your Grey-Green/Blue cock and your blue hen pair will give you. 12.5% Green/Blue Cocks and 12.5% Green/Blue Hens, 12.5% Blue Cocks and 12.5% Blue Hens, 12.5% Grey-Green/Blue Cocks and 12.5% Grey-Green/Blue Hens, 12.5% Grey Cocks and 12.5% Grey Hens. There is a good book out on Indian Ringnecks. The Indian Ringneck Breeder's Handbook, written by Phil Rodson.

Thanks Pauline will have to get hold of that book. Ringo is going great, he has a new playground now and loves it, is there an average time he should be out of cage? as he is quite happy sitting on it for hours. Thanks Sonya

Hi Sonya, Ringo will want to stay out of his cage all day and that is fine. Make sure he has his food and water on the stand. A ladder is a good idea so he can climb back onto his stand if he jumps down for a walk around on the floor.
Bill. In my book I have the opposite pair I think it would be the same. Grey-green/Blue Cock with Green/Blue Hen. You would get COCKS HENS 6.25% Green 6.25% Green 12.5% Green/Blue 12.5% Green/Blue 6.25% Blue 6.25% Blue 6.25% Grey-Green 6.25% Grey-Green 12.5% Grey-Green/Blue 12.5% Grey-Green/Blue 6.25% Grey 6.25% Grey

your spot on Petiel... with your genetic calculations!! if you were trying to track down that book - his name is Phil Robson not rodson - just a typo mistake. this is a wonderfull book covering everthing for the beginner, hobbiest and the professional ringneck breeder. it covers all the mutations up to the lacewing series. i would definetly recommend this book. cheers wayne...
