Hi All, last year my pair of ringnecks starting mating 12th July & laid 6wks later..........this year the only hint of breeding was 2 wks ago when they started checking out nest box. He (George) seems to have put on a lot of weight & sometimes his feathers look a little bit fluffed, been like this for 3 wks. It is cool here at moment. Is something wrong with him, maybe has a chill or overweight or is he just not in the mood yet? ? How do u put a bird on a diet? He gets daily: parrot seed mix, small amounts of corn, celery, silverbeet, carrot & apple. any help please Shelly

hi shelly due to the recent chilly weather , it could be a factor. If he gets worse the good ole inside cage, warm light ,coupla days trick will help . bad timing being breeding season and all, but. reduce sunflower seeds until chicks have hatched, and then reduce again after chicks have fledged
