hey does anyone know how to tell if Indian ringnecks eggs are infertile or fertile ? the hen has been sitting on the eggs for about a month and there is only three will she know if they are fertile or will she sit on them not knowing ? the birds are about 3 yrs old so it probably their first clutch thanx tori

Hi Tori, if she has been sitting on them for about a month, chances are they are infertile or could even be dead in shell. If you have a small torch, shine it through the back of the egg in the nest box. If it looks clear it is infertile. If the eggs are infertile, then I would be removing them & trying again. Again it will depend on when she started incubating them, but I would say they should have hatched by now. Have a check of the eggs & then make your decision, if they look fertile but are light to hold then I would say they are DIS. Hope this helps. Cheers Anna
