hi everyone I'm back again haven't posted for a while need a Lil bit of advice, the first to ring necks i bought were around 4months old i have had them for a good 2months or so, i think there moulting but not sure sorry just with my budgie it looked different, the green one or rocky seems to be doing more on his head a facial area from this to this please note the colour of the bird is the same just the flash has made the bird look even worse chocko is doing it more on his torso area please shed some light, the adult pair i have don't seem to be in this stage could it be that the younger ones are getting rid of their baby feathers and going to more of an adolescent stage?? thanks

It's called a juvenile moult dean and is quite normal for birds of that age don't worry too much they will be fine.

Rani my alexandrine who is 5 months old has been going through a 'big' moult. she looked really ugly (and I mean ugly). I have never seen a bird moult like this. Feathers everywhere every day..........it was embarressing taking her out because I am sure she looked like she had a disease. Your picture looked similar to Rani, but she was like that ALL over. But the moult seems to have settled down now. Thank goodness. So yes it seems to be normal. ;D
