im a grand father as of yesterday ohh yea i wil get photos when i can shuld the lil bub be siitng on the worrd shavings cos the mum has moved some of it out the way shuld i move the shavings back?

Congratulations granddad! We'll look forward to seeing your baby pics! If you can do it without upsetting mum I'd try and make sure the bubs are on a decent bed of shavings.

congratulations Dean and pics would be lovely too. I don't know about the shavings (as I am not a breeder yet) but I am sure John will come on and give his expert advise............he is a breeder.

I would let well enough alone, it's a case of mother knows best here, and if you go poking around in the nest box just yet you might upset mum, let her decide the amount of shavings she will make adjustments. yea thats whats i was thinking of doin any way but just wanna make everything perfect hahah well im so happy and cant wait for the other eggs to hatch

That's a great feeling when the eggs start to hatch Dean it's the best, good luck with the babies and we would love to see pictures when they are big enough.

lil bub died have no idea why and i highly doubt the other 2 eggs will hatch, wll passed thier due date ill keep them in there for a few days more

hopefully better luck next time but with other birds i dont no why he/she died but the other 2 young irns in the aviary with the pair might have had something to do with it, yea i am a lil sad because last year they hatched and raised 4 bubs oh well what can ya do all i can say is bring on the greencheeks or grassparrots
