And now the waiting starts Dean, first you wait for her to lay, then you wait for the eggs to hatch then you wait for the young to fledge, it's a waiting game from here on mate I hope you have a lot of patience ;D

i dun think the eggs are far off now oh its exciting i checked the nest box today n it seems that she has benn pulling some of her fluff out to put on the wood shavings so im thinkin wont b to long, i really want to hand rear the birds but i just dont know when i shuld pull the babies or even if i shuld pull them because this will b the first year i have seen the ringies breed

the best time to pull them is around 3 weeks..........when the pin feathers appear...........or so I have read anyway.

I believe its always good to let the parents finish raising at least some chicks (doesn't have to be all). This is so you get a good parent birds who you can trust to finish the job if you don't have time one year to hand raise and also some parent raised chicks who will go on to be good breeders themselves.

You should get Albino birds out of that combination.

You have neighbours complaining about your IRN's..............how many have you got. I love the sound of birds...............I just can't understand why people complain about the noises they make.............actually sometimes with Skye ringing like a phone at the top of her lungs for hours on end and Shrekie making her horrible noise during the day..............yes I can understand sometimes. I am sorry to hear that. Maybe princess parrots or some burkes or red rumps might be better??? I am sure John can give you better advise on those as he has experience with them.

Oh that is a shame Dean. Maybe if you love kaks so much you should look into getting some of them as they aren't as loud as ringies and they're far more entertaining.
