Here they are, the eldest is five days old (yesterday, Wednesday). Their crops are bulging !! Not sure if you can see it in the photo. Will defiantly take weekly photos, probably more actually !! If anyone in Perth (100% dedicated Alex lovers only) is interested in one let me know and I can give you my number. I think one may already be gone. Another thing, does anyone know what the going price is for young Alexs this season? It's been so long since I've had any and I know Ringnecks are cheap as chips these days. These three are going to 110% perfect homes !!!!

Look at the tiny babies. Wont be long and they will be beautifully feathered adults. I don't know the price of Alex's over there although I have seen them as expensive as $500 a couple of years ago but as cheap as around $150..............so you might just have to do some research on the prices. Over here in Qld they can be as cheap as around the $250 or up to around the $400 depending on the breeder or if you get them from a petshop.

Breeders I know in Brisbane are selling their Alex's for $300, $350 and $400 and they have been DNA sexed. Pet City in Brisbane sells then for $460 not sexed. I sell mine for $350 DNA sexed.

Update -
The youngest chick sadly passed away a few days ago. He was just too small and I think the other two were sitting on him when it was feed time, so he wasn't getting enough. I guess that happens. The other two are perfect !! Saw them yesterday and they're getting so big. Eyes are open, huge beaks and just all over cute. One is going this weekend for $220. Though the guy who is buying one has bought birds (Blue Ringnecks) from me before and he's giving my mum a pair of Lutinos and one Blue, for free. So it's a good swap !! Now there is only two left I'm selling one to handraise and keeping one for Alex to fledge. I couldn't bare to sell both and leaving her with nothing.

It sucks not having the internet on hand 24/7 !! Well my beautiful babies are doing great. You can hear them calling out and I heard one climbing up inside the box so they should be fledged any day now. They're sooooo big, fully feathered, long tails, stunning huge beaks. I can hear them right this very moment. I've moved back home for a few weeks so I will try to get some new photos for everyone. I'd really like to get them calm and friendly when they've fledged so they won't be really flighty. Anyone know the best way to do this?

The best thing you can do is spend lots of time with them, handling them, giving them top up feeds and generally socializing them, it's a lot of fun and is very rewarding good luck and let us know how you go.

yes what John said........spend time with them. I myself would be tempted to bring them inside once they fledge and clip them and work with them then. But the parents usually still feed them for a couple of weeks until properly weaned. But handling them heaps would be great but be prepared to be bitten a few times as they are not used to humans and don't know what or who you are

These are some not so grand photos of one of my baby Alexs. They both seem to be doing pretty good. Not too flighty but a little scared. Though they both do like to come out of the nest box then go back in when the outside world gets too much. They're past the stage where they should be out all the time learning to fly so if I catch them both out today I will take the box out. I also think that my hen plucks theirs heads so they come out bald. So cute. Hope you like them =)

Lovely pics Thanks If the hen is plucking them they will be better out, I would take the box away, it is warm enough you shouldn't have to worry about them.

She plucks them at a young age but has never done any damage. They always have a full head of pins and grow back quickly.

Well everything is still going great with the two babies. At a guess I'd say I have a brother and sister. They not calling out for food as much now and are eating fruit etc. I was thinking of letting my male, Oscar, back in with mum and babies. You can tell he isn't happy having had to stay on his own for this long. I was going to do it and watch them really well. I'm 99.9% sure he won't hurt them. Is it a good idea?

No one has been looking in this section !!
I let my male Alexandrine back in with the hen and two babies and they're going great. Bit of noise for a few hours but they settled down. It's good to give the babies move flying space.
