well that is good Agent44 I am glad the dad hasn't hurt the bubs.....maybe he can only be trusted with older birds and not helpless little baby birds.

Hi there agent 44, I'm Dail, from Parrots in Paradise and I have a large number of Alexes and had a fair amount of experience with both male and feamale Alex parenting problems. Taking Oscar away is the right thing to do. But remember while he might not like his kids much he obviously loves his wife. So if you can remove him throught the baby rearing time leaving them with her for a while just make sure you supliment her.....I spoon feed all my mums whether they have a partner or not, and even if the girl is aviry bread. I give her Katees hand rearing formula, and she will feed the bubs. In this way when I take the bubs for hand rearing ( something I don't need to do too much of now ) their little tummies are used to the formula. I don't take our bubs away from the parents completely now I just handle and help feed the babies. I have nearly all handraised mums and dads so they don't tell their kids horrible human stories at bed times. So babies are tame before they get out of the nest. However it is not all that unusual for parents to flip out like Oscar, some just settle for plucking thier babies.
