hey there guys I have a pair of ringnecks, Ringo & Jemima, who have been sitting on eggs for close to 5 weeks now. I was just wondering what the incubation period was for ringnecks as this is the first time I have bred them? Should I be removing these eggs and letting them try again? Both of the birds have bred before, but not together.

I'm not exactly sure how many days for ringnecks but most parrots are 21-25 days so I'm sure at 5 weeks you'd better toss them and hope they lay again. If I can find the right # of days I'll let you know.

5 weeks is too long. I am not up with the exact days, but I do know that 5 weeks is too long. Most birds are around 3 weeks, depending on species some are longer and others (like canaries) are shorter.
When my chooks and ducks have sat on eggs in the past I let them sit for about 4 weeks then throw the eggs out. I only let them sit for that long..........just in case I got the dates wrong.

Yes 5 weeks is far to long. Try holding a torch to the egg to see if they are fertile or clear. They might go down for you again but its getting a bit late now.
