Hey. just wondering if anyone has any fantastic products they use to clean up dried poo. I have been using the Pineo Clean wipes, but still find myself picking away at it (eww!) Any little gems of advice?

take the cage out and pressure hose it. lol I just scrub everything down every now and then. In between I use a scrubbing brush to brush things down and a vacuum cleaner.

Vinegar works wonders. Just spray it on the cage and leave it for 10 minutes then rinse it off.

I use a pressure hose on the bottoms of my cages and perches once a month.. inbetween then I use either a little brush to get the dried poop off or a water/vinagar mix and a cloth to clean up the wet ones .. the one good thing about having mainly budgies is that there poops are only little...unlike Duncan

Thanks for the ideas, I will try the Vinegar. Unfortuantely, in QLD, we are on level 6 water restrictions and can't use the hose, we have a water tank, but the pressure is pretty poor. I will try the vinegar and water combo part 1 vinegar to 3 parts water?

you can buy specialised cage and avairy cleaner to do it, i dont use it since i use oressure cleaner but i do have some other stuff( same brand different type) that i use fr the rat houses and it works wonders. its cheap too. Bicarb soda and vinegar are also good cleaning agents

Yes Tracey, Brisbane is still on Level 6 restrictions because although some parts are getting heaps of rain, Brisbanes water storage level is still only 37%, not alot of water for a capital city. Of course it's all abit odd because the Wivanhoe dam was built to stop a repeat of the 1974 floods, not technically for storing drinking water, is called our major dam and is still very low because most of the catchment water is in Somerset Dam (just upstream) and Somerset is over 80%. When storage gets to 40% we will get restrictions relaxed

oh well I wasn't aware of that. You poor guys........I remember well the level 5 restrictions we had and at that time we had all 6 of our kids living with us..........7 adults and one baby in nappies.....it was a killer trying to keep under the water restrictions imposed especially when one of our neighbours was an older couple with no one else living with them and they could continue to water their yard and keep well and truely under the restrictions imposed. We only had to flush one too many times and we were worried we would go over our limit. lol
We ended up going to the council and asked them relax our limit a bit. We had to prove we were doing our bit to conserve water......we had changed our shower head, we were using our grey water on our yard and we were recording our water usuage so we kept on top of it and they relaxed it for us. But we never ever went over the original limit ;D and I don't use disposable nappies either as they are too expensive and not good for the planet either.
