The best thing you can do is to give them a good diet.Like you would if you where breeding them....sprout would be very good as well....I will hear from you once you get them..Then why we will know a bit more on them....

The poor little birds they have that terrified look about them, they are going to need lots of TLC from you Vickie, but if anyone can bring them around i have my money on you. With thier beaks give them lots of cuttle fish and abrasive blocks to chew on and lots of tree branches, they love to destroy things as you probably know and the more work those beaks can do the better.
Good Luck with them and let us know how they are getting on.
John

I know these alex's Gonzo and Reggie. I saw them when my friend first rescued them about 1 1/2 years ago. They were in a shocking state with long beaks poor condition and colour. The lady took them in and fed them every think you could think of. Including all fruits and vegis, sprouts, nuts all chewing treats to make them feel safe and well. She shocked me one day when she stood in the aviary and hand fed Gonzo his fruit and corn, she replied he cant hold it in his feet so every day she hand fed him. These birds were a credit to her and I feel you will give them the same TLC she gave them.

Hi Vicki, I know Wendy too! I would really hate to have seen what these birds looked like when she first got them! They were very lucky birds to find her to begin with and now to have found you they will feel like they are in heaven! Good luck luck with the poor guys and keep us updated on their progress. Jo-Anne

Hi Jo-anne, Reggi and Gonzo were in a shocking condition when Wendy resued them from a dirty aviary, all she could see in the aviary was some seed. The man had a ad in the weekend shopper and was selling them for $100 each. A lot of breeders would I walked away and left the poor birds there. You know the person Wendy is so she paid the $200 and brought them home to her aviary. She contacted Ron Woodhead the vet at Ashgrove to find out if there was anything she could do for Gonzo's hip. She would of paid for a operation on the hips if there was a way to fix them.
