Finally got the Quali i wanted. A pair of Silver King Quail. Always good to tidy up bits of spilt food on the floor, and keep the bugs in check. Hopefully they will get on the job and start breeding soon....everything else in the aviary has.

I have had quail in my aviaries for ever I love them they are great and are a lot of fun. I call them helecopter birds because of there ability to take off in a vertical manner.

I love quail too - I love their call at night!! I have normal and silver Kings at the moment. I am finding it hard to get quails around my area - no one seems to have any. Even the two pairs I have aren't breeding well. One hen has 5 eggs, but she's not sitting. Its really strange because usually I can't get rid of my baby quail and or have them running all over the place. Other people have also commented to me that there is a shortage of King Quail. - Claire

Yey! One of my King Quail hens has started to brood her eggs. She's been laying them all over the place for the past two weeks, built one nest but didn't sit. Yesterday she finished a clutch of five and this morning I found her sitting tightly!!
Can't wait for the babies - its been a long time since I had baby quails running around the place!
