I have three tiny little diamond doves, two hens and a cockbird they are in with the finches and caneries. Last night i noticed that one of the hens was sitting on a couple of eggs, or what i thought were a couple of eggs, one of the "eggs" turned out to be a little baby ;D wow are they ugly looking little things but as they are the first diamond doves that have ever bred for me Im happy . Hi John, Diamond Doves are lovely little birds, I have a few here, a couple of males, the reason for this is that once they really get breeding properly, you can suddenly find yourself kneedeep in them ;D, Ive had this experience, along with King Quail, they are very prolific breeders I agree with you, as hatchlings thy are just plain ugly, but soon grow out of that. Hope the other eggs hatch for you, Its exciting to breed something new, isn't it . Cheers Tony

The little dove is doing great he can fly and is feeding its self but it is as bald as a badger all down it's back and it's head are bald . It has all its flight feathers and has no problem flying, only the one egg hatched this time but she is sitting on another one so who knows what will happen, I wish the little feller would grow some feathers .
