This little bird is so pretty. Not mine, I found this pic and wondered if anyone breeds these? I guess they are a rare mutation and hugely expensive?

Hi JMS, The bird is a colour variation of the yellow faced Gouldian, I'm not sure what this particular colour is...there are so many colour variations in this species these days, it really depends on the rarity of the colour as to how expensive they are, but generally speaking, most of the variations are fairly cheap and quite widely available.

Hi JMS, you will find these birds fairly widely available from Pet and Bird shops, but I would suggest you wait untill there is a bird show or bird sale near your area and buy direct from the breeders, the price will be cheaper, only buy birds that are fully coloured and through thier first moult.

Yes they are gouldian i think they are orange faced gouldains but then again i am not a breeder of gouldains
