Yes folks I think I am certifiable!!!!!!11 Last season I hand-raised 2 canary babies successfully. Well I have outdone myself.....I have now successfully hand-raised 3 Zebra finches!!!  Started them at 7 days old and if I can get them onto seed now they will be great (and I can have a break). I must be seriously mad LOL |

Well done Seb you are to be congratulated, there is nothing more rewarding than hand raising birds, and to do it with Zeb is a job well done.

Thanks guys...Can't wait for them to start eating seed though. They have started in the last few days to fly out the cage door and "hover" above my arm before landing on me and demanding food They are a lot more fun than I thought they would be to hand-raise. I should start renting myself out for hand-raising at the rate....I mean how many ppl can put "successfully hand-raised canaries and zebra finches on their CV"? LOL |

Thanks Greg....just ask anyone here I am certifiable at times LOL. Was a huge challenge but so very worth the effort......I love "bucking" the conventional just a little hehehehe

Yep he is certifiable. LOL
Congrats on successfully raising the finches. I tried to raise 3 wild finches, 2 died the next day but 1 survived for almost 2 weeks and was almost fully feathered when he died.

Greg like everyone else that is a member or visitor to this forum I just do what I do...not always with grace but always with love in my heart (or somewhere nearby) lol.
But thanks all the same...tis always the biggest effort of small things that truly makes me proud.

they must be so hard to feed being so tiny?
My hubby laughs at me for raising budgies...I can only begin to imagine what he would say about finches!!
