been a busy afternoon on this infernal machine trying to find information, its easier & less frustrating working in the shed.
I need to put leg rings on my finches so that I can keep track of who's who and so that I dont let any brothers & sisters mate in the future. can anyone help with the name of a supplier, also is it best to use coloured rings or coloured with numbers on them.

Lentra direct on ebay has them plus there's a place in Grote or Gouger street here in the city that has them too. Can't think of the name off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure SA Bird Company also has some. The other thing is to check your local bird club, there would be one in that area as there's a couple of big breeders your way Mick.

Colours vs numbers are a personal preference but if you are going to breed a few you'll need both. Colours have the advantage of being able to be seen as the birds zooms past so you don't have to catch each individual bird to read the numbers. Depending on how many pairs you have it can be useful to assign a different colour to each pair so it's abit quicker to catch unrelated pairs of young.
