There are many carvivorous softbilsl you can get in SA Bluewinged and Laughing Kookaburras are frequently traded, You can get Sacred and Red Backed kingfishers as well, Tawny frogmouths are very rare. and only a few people have bred them. Many of the locally natives species come in as rescues.
What the situation like for these birds interstate?

They can't be kept in Queensland except with a zoo license. Our list of allowed softbills is very limited.
cheers,
Mike

Yeah, i thought i saw taht, its a shame really, Kookaburras aren't hard to keep! a pet shop that i used to work at had a handraised one who just wandered around the shop, theres also a bird shop eher (Camsal Aviaries) breed them on site. they are great birds!

You can only keep them under licence here and they can't be sold or traded.
