Hi all, I'm looking at getting pastle silver tiels (wf). The genetics calculators wern't real clear on the pastel bit. Is it the recessive silver or the single factor silver or something different altogether? Ta

You need to have the gene on both sides to breed these guys..The females can be spilts.

WF Pastel Silver is in genetic terms, a Blue Dilute. Blue (WF) is recessive, and so is Dilute (Pastel Silver) So both parents need to be carrying the gene, either visually or split to pass it on to the babies.
