From what I've read, a dark green cock is bred to a normal blue then any darkgreens/blues that results are then repaired to blues which results in a percentage of cobolts. The dark green they are talking about results from a pairing between a green/blue cock and a pastel blue hen. My dad did a bit of research on this but decided not to attempt it as he would need a lot of room to try it as well as the time needed to allow the birds to mature to breeding age, also its only a small percentage of chicks that will turn out the colour you need so it might take a couple of seasons just to breed one bird suitable for the basic breeding stock needed.

A Cobalt is a Dark Factor Blue. So the most basic way is to breed two Dark Green/Blue's together, then you could get: Green/Blue, Dark Green/Blue, Olive/Blue, Blue, Cobalt, Mauve. The dark green they are talking about results from a pairing between a green/blue cock and a pastel blue hen. I wish it were that easy, however, a Green/Blue with a TurquoiseBlue will not produce birds will dark factors. Supposedly, TurqoiseBlues that have more green colouring are carrying 1 dark factor but to my knowledge, that is rubbish! It that were the case, there would be many Dark Greens, Olives, Cobalts, and Mauves in Australia.
