well for the first time, the pair Ive been talking about have laid 3 eggs ,the male is acting very strange,he will not leave the box,i mean he stays at the entry of it during the day unless she comes out ,but of a night he is inside the box with her. none of my other eccies have done this before, should i be worried?
cheers
Steve

Hey coltfire, how are your eccies going. I know nothing about them but perhaps if Tim has got some time as I know he is really busy with work at the moment, he might be able to steer you in the right direction with your question. Cheers Anna

Hi Steve,
Sorry for the tardiness of my reply. You shouldn't worry about your eccie cock. Each pair have their little idiosyncracies and chanses are he is just a very protective mate and future father. With that said, what kind of nestbox are you using. With two full grown birds in the box, there's the increased risk of fatalities to the chicks or cracked eggs. Just something to look out for.
Rgds Tim

if you have a look in the other post(ECCIES there is a pic of my male bird out side it ),it is quite big (its L shape).i check the eggs daily and they are fine ,he is spending almost as much time in the box now as her and when i go down to the aviaries he is the last to come out of the box.
