Hi All Could some one help me ,I have read so many different theories on when to start counting the days for cockateils to hatch and not sure which is correct.Is it from the first egg layed or the last or when she starts to sit on them. Cheers

Hi Cheekyguy, that is great news that you have tiel eggs. I usually start to count 18 days from when the second egg is layed as an approx. hatch date as this is when they usually start to incubate them but some tiels don't do it till they have laid their third egg. The normally lay their eggs every second day. When I know the approx dates, & have candled them to make sure they are fertile, I will leave the birds alone till they are due to hatch, then I will start inspecting the nest boxes every day.
