Here are some random pics of our aviaries I felt like taking This is our second biggest aviary, It has 8 weeros, 2 kakarikis and 3 golden pheasants in it (as well as a pair of red rumps we are going to sell). It has a tree growing through the roof in the shed, and is about 8 mtrs long and 4 mtrs wide. We mulch the bottoms of our aviaries that do not have cement bottoms. This is our Biggest aviary, It is aprox 8mtrs long and 5.5mtrs wide. It has 2 pairs of sun conures, a pair of alexandrines, Tibor, Pew and 4 ringneck pheasants. We like to put in freshly cut branches with leaves and nuts in for our birds to destroy! They love it and it keeps them busy. Can you see Tibor?

Love the size of your aviaries and how many do you have?? When we move down to Cooyar late next year I have told hubby he WILL be building me an aviary..........we will need it by then as I will have 3 alex's and 1 ekkie and I will probaby buy a male ekkie for skye and another male alex for Skrekie..........I will be looking at getting adult males by then.
With mulching the bottom don't vermin still get in?? Hubby was thinking of building suspended aviaries.........but I would love big open ones like yours and I am not sure we would be able to concret the bottom of it because of remotness of living...........although we could cement it by hand I guess.

Mulching doesn't keep out the mice etc, but it makes it look nicer and more natural. It is hard to cement those aviaries, but the mice still come in the ones with cement. They have their holes elsewhere, and come for the seed. I hate mice! We have about 16 aviaries all up, not incluiding our poultry yards.

holy that is a lot of aviaries...........I would be happy with one, but will probably need at least two, maybe three eventually. One for the ekkies (if I do decided to get Skye a husband), one for my alex's and one maybe for 'tiels, bourkes, kaks etc ............. Oh and of course the chook pen for my chooks. ;D
