I noticed early on (at about 5days old) that the oldest of the bubs looked like it had a problem. Well yep there definitely is. Looks like it's got torticollis also known as wry neck. You can feel the curvature in the neck. Poor little thing keeps holding it head on the one side. He's still doing really well with feeding and weight gains are as good if not better then a couple of his siblings. It was an American woman who has this with one of greys that she's had since a teeny that suggested this to me. He's deinitely staying with us. Her grey has lived with this problem for 18years (or is it 13...anyway), so I don't think it will affect quality of life too much. Has anyone else experienced this as birth problem and what kind of things did you do to help?

If it is what I think it is I have heard of male ekkie over in the US that has a curve in his neck. Have seen a video of him and his head actually points up at times. She has had him for many years and his life seems quite normal too. But sorry Mary no personal experience.

Bubs is looking ok. I think the neck will continue to be a problem aesthetically however he has got strength and can hold his head up when he wants to needs to. There's times I do have to look twice to check which one it is. I've also found a very special owner for him but more on that at another point.

The neck problem isn't to much to be concerned at... thou it may look hanging, calcium will help as will thistle weed..they have vitamins to strenghten bones and muscle which hope will help This is my opinion for l personally haven't experianced it with my birds just have seen hanging neck with one bird in my lifetime many years ago.. This Cockatoo is on Calcium tablets but doing fine.. Oh! When giving calcium, l find scrapping a tablet on there fruit and vegies an easy way to make sure they have there intake
