Most commercial raising mix is pretty good I use Paswells for my birds and i have a lot of success with it. Hand raising from ten days old is acceptable but a lot of work, you are looking at feeding every three hours so be prepared to loose a bit of sleep, but it is very satisfying when you get results.

Hi Zax, yep have to agree with John. I have sucessfully raised ringnecks on Paswells & have found it suitable for budgies, tiels, ringnecks & princess parrots & I like the fact that it contains essential omega 3 & 6, but there are other good ones out there. Cheers Anna

Hi Zax, it is best to remove the chicks for h/rearing at 2 weeks old. Any later than that, I have found you can have feeding problems with them. You can buy h/rearing mix from places that usually sells birds like some pet shops do carry the line but I prefer to buy from a grain & produce store. Where abouts are you located as you can buy some certain things for birds like h/rearing mix online. Cheers Anna
