I found this recipe while trying to kill some time:
Gorp
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
4 1/2 cups cornmeal
Mix well. Add some raisins and sunflower seeds and pack the mixture into a suet holder or onto a pine cone.
The idea is to use the pine cone like a Kong - a dog toy where the dog has to manipulate its tongue to get the treat inside. While I am defiantely sure I will not use the recipe (it seems to fatty to me) I will use the idea of the pine cone or something similar and put an egg and biscuit mix or fruit puree in the cone for my bird to play with.
