Ok well seeing aas the season is upon us I thought I'd check out what everyone uses for H/Raising.
So come on guys let us know what you use and perhaps why....please!
I've used Roudybush before (been a few years though) for everything from Lorikeets to Sulphurs.
Last year I raised canaries on egg and biscuit that was made nice and sloppy for the syringe.
No doubt I'll be raising some poor baby again this season, but plan of using Roudybush again if I can find it here in Sydney.

I use Vetafarm Neocare mostly because there isn't much else for sale around here and the few other h/r foods here are ridiculously expensive,

I like Roudy bush but had trouble getting it for Rani so put her on Avian Science...........I will never buy that brand again, it went straight through her and she did not put on weight, so I then swapped her to Kaytee Exact and she went ahead in leaps and bounds.
I kept Takoda on the formula he was raised on by Pauline (Petiel) before I got him at 4.5 weeks and that was also Kaytee Exact. I had no problems with it. My choice would be Roudy Bush and Kaytee Exact. I also would put baby forumula mixed in with it too. Sometimes veges, sometimes apples, sometimes veges and meat. I only used the real mushy stuff for babies under 6 months.

I use Katee Excact for feeding all my babies and found it to be the best I have used. I have tryed just about every handrearing mix on the market and after trying Kaytee i won't use anythink else. I have found using Kaytee the birds wean faster onto solid foods and their colour is much brighter and their feathers seen to be much stronger also. I buy my mix in the 11 kg bucket.

Having never used Kaytee or a pile of the others for that matter I'd be keen so know what the diff ingredient and constituent lists (protein, crude fat etc etc etc lists) are like is these products. Normally higher protein/crude fat content gives better feathering/coat etc. As I have never heard of Kaytee until I started this thread perhaps we should move to the next step and see whats actually in these products. Just a thought...or am I being a pain in the pin feather?

Also, for those in the brisbane area: PetCity in Mt Gravatt now has every different brand of baby food and pellet known to man. Kaytee, Vetafarm, Roudybush, you name it.
