sorry i can't really help you there. I had two mice in my aviary awhile back and i flushed one out of its hiding place and as it ran past me i hit it with the mallet but you've got to be really fast in order to do this ;D

I have a good way to get them that never fails..And it is very safe...for the birds...Mix some plaster of parus up with icing sugar...put into a chinese container that the top part has a small hole in it on the side..put the lid back turn upside down.Hole beening near the lid so that the mouse will walk inside.Hole not big enough for birds to get into...The mice eat it,have a drink and and they set .And if if any thing else eats the dead mouse they will not be poisioned... Unfortuanately it doesn't take long for two to turn into 10+...We've just got rid of ours..rat traps and a dog..I was cleaning my outside aviary and lifted up the quails box 10 baby mice were right at the back of it, lucky we got the mom and dad as well...drowned them all...Everytime the young dog catches a mouse, we praise the life out of him, give him bones, biscutes anything he wants...He's as good as a cat now...

Hi Deb We have had a mouse invasion as well and i find you can't beat the mousetrap! I usually put either pumpkin seed or sunflower seeds on the trap and next morning the traps have usually done their job! Set them each night and keep as much other feed as possible cleaned up so the bait is the easiest to access! It takes a while but gradually they dimish in numbers.....usually the adults get caught so any nests with newborns die too! Good luck! Persistance is the key. Jo-Anne

Persistance ARRRRRRRRR....has any one seen the movie Mouse Hunt....coz I'm sure the little rotter has moved in here....he now eats the goodies, snaps the traps, does a few poos (think this is a message for me here) and then buggers off.
Looks like i'll be giving the plaster and iceing sugar a go Natalie ;D

I find it a lot safer then traps and poisons..And the best thing about it is that you know they will eat it.For they will eat every thing else lol..No trap for them to think about as well... The poor thing all he wants is a feed, and he knows you will look after him well. All them treats yum yum...it must be xmas at your place for them,.. Natalie
