looks like either another dead chick or she has finally tossed the one that died quite a few days ago, plus it looks like she finally tossed the egg too.

Nature is a wonderful, yet at times cruel, thing she perpetuates the species by killing the week and sick and leaving the strong, perhaps the dead babies were sick or just too weak to survive, perhaps she couldn't raise more than three successfully, we will never know, all we can do is hope that the remaining babies will survive.

Is there still 3? I have not been able to see them properly. I was not sure if the last one was the latest dead one..........being it was hatched so late an all.............or whether there are 4 and she just tossed the 1st dead one. But I think the first dead one is almost decomposed now, so I am guessing that is the second dead chick.

Yep I saw 3 bubbies. Peregrines usually only lay 2 - 3 eggs so I suspect 3 is the most they can care for. The fact that she laid 6 is pretty unusual.

mummy has gone out for a while and I can clearly see 3 babies and one egg that looks like it is hatching..........I can see the chicken in the egg but maybe it has died too..........even if it does hatch the odds of it surviving are not very good because of the age difference with the older chicks

oMG.............I just checked again and all three are up sitting up (almost standing actually) ready to eat. It must have been just lying down stretched right out near the edge of the nest. How wonderful, I was a bit sad when I thought it was dead.

checked again and boy do they get around now. they also seem to stretch out a lot too. It reminds of when Rani was a baby and I would go check on her and she would be stretched out and I would have a heart attack thinking she had died. Must be a baby thing ;D
