Here is a pic of my wf platinums I have just pulled. The white bird in the middle is a mystery! It has dark eyes yet is white! There may be a feather or 2 that is a light platinum colour but it could also be a dirty feather too!!!LOL The mother is a wf platinum pearl pied and dad is a wf platino split pearl. Any ideas on the white one??? Frank?? Jo-Anne

Thanks Frank! I think it is just the light making the platinums look different...they are very close to the same colour in the flesh. What makes you say they are hens?....not saying you are wrong cos at this point they could be either...just curious that's all! As to the platino chick I still haven't seen any feathers that convince me they are not just dirty!!LOL.There is one on the outer edge of the wing that is very light but not white but so far that's it! If it is a light platino will it ever darken up a bit and if so when? Thanks Jo-Anne

Sorry Jo jumping ahead of myself, your pairing will produce
Wf Platino males Wf Platinum males
Wf Platinum hens Wf Lutino hens (albino) and pearling in all these combinations Also Wface Platino chicks are born very light sometimes and very hard to distinguish with Albino the only guide is Eye color and slight dirty wash which darkens with moult up until 2yrs old cheers Frank

Thanks Kim. To be honest this is the first time I have had the chance to see the full colour of the platinum that these parents throw. The other babies I have had from them were wf lutino or wf platinum pearl and the pearling was very heavy leaving the platinum colouring very sparse. The hens colour is very pearled too and the platino male is lighter....so now I know what a real platinum wf looks like..LOL I may just have to keep these babies too......now the new aviary is up and nearly ready for use I have a bit of room to spare!..... Jo-Anne
