Great looking cage - nice size. Smartie sure is a lucky bird.
One thing I'd point out is that you don't want to have too much in your cage - a crowed cage can lead to injuries and can help the bird to become lazy by walking insted of flying.
Cheers,
Claire

I was thinking of adding to the side (not in the middle to leave flying room) so piece of cotton rope for a play on??

I love that cage /aviary you have him in Nova. Dont crowd him too much as Lorries love to move around, I give my one fresh grevillia every day, she loves to get into the brach and loves the necter in the flowers. I actually planted two trees in my garden just for her [glow=red,2,300]John[/glow]

Hi again Nova,
You never know he could become tame even in his avairy..Try feeding some apple through the wire..One day he just mite take some while still in he hand..And about the rope toy.Dont always trsut what is in the shops for sale for birds...Cotton is a no no...They will get tangled up in that..You need rope that dont have a memery..Rope like sasial, some rope you can get is made out of straw...It has to be one that cannot go back and get tangled to its self.I make lots of toys myself.I dont like a lot that is on the market.I find heaps that have the wrong type of metal eg:chain,hook,bell..I dont even like the food dye that is used for dying wood..I just make the blocks my self..Pine untreated is what I use..even gum branch cut small..Kids keys are good as well..Second hand shops have these..just clean all before you give to you bird...

Thanks for that i was looking at one of those ropes with the wood blocks the other day but my head told me NO as i wasn't sure on what they used to dye the wood blocks. Funny thing is he won't come over and eat anything from me other then bottle brush flowers. i can put my hand in and hold it while he comes over for a feed so he is getting use to me now.
How would he go if i got him a friend? Do they tend to fight?

since beening young there should not be a problem..but what I do if I have a new bird is to put the new one into a cage in side the avairy. Then they can get used to each other..once you think that they will be ok,you can let the other one out..but still watch them ok...That is good that smartie does take sone thing from you.Its a start..
