A few weeks back I posted about a newly hatched baby I found in the middle of the aviary floor...Won't be long and he/she will be out of the box..

Hi Jill the top photo is a Whitefaced Cinnamon pearl pied and if mum doesnt show any Cinnamon it will be a hen. The bottom photo is a Whitefaced pied if dad is a Cinnamon this will be male if dad isn't Cinnamon then it could be either sex cheers Frank

The cinamon will be a hen then. Mom's a lutino split to whiteface and dad's a whiteface. She's a lucky girl though, she was cold but still alive when I found her..Only because she was so white that she stood out on the aviary floor..I'd been spinning some white fleece and thought abit of the fibre had got into the aviary and as I got closer to it to get it out it moved and peeped..Then I panicked..I really wish mom would use a nest box though, she won't have a bar of them, she nests in a hollowed out log on the aviary floor, there's six more eggs in there now..

Yes Jill it's now known that genetically dad is split to Cinnamon Pearl ,the clutch mate of the hen if it turns out male will be a Whitefaced Pied split Lutino and possibly Cinn-Prl which will have genetics to produce Whiteface-Lutino (Albino) and Albino-Cinnamon-Prl cheers Frank

So your saying that the father is has the cinamon in him. He's a whiteface referse pearl pied, he only has three very small black feathers on one side. I don't know much about his back ground, he was bought hand reared..This is her second white face cinamon pearl to him..If I keep the baby, what would be a good color male to put with her..

Thats right Jill dad has Cinnamon in his genetic make up and now that you told me he is a pearl also then the other chick is definately a male as all chicks that are females will have pearling in them, I would look for a Cinn-pied split Whiteface or a Whiteface Cinn-Pied for her also the young male now becomes Whiteface-Pied/Lutino/Prl and possibly Cinnamon a Multi Split which can breed a magnitude of different Mutations note the forward slashes indicate (split to) cheers ;D Frank
