New update of my three Lutinos chicks Have a question about one of them in regards to her colouring.....I have noticed that the feathers on her back have darker shell patterns to the end of each feather and her main flights have a feathered lace effect to them, it looks like the flights are wavey or have ripple to them, any ideas guys.

Probably Cinnamon Lacewing Pearl! Is Mum a pearl? If not this bird is a hen! Is Mum a Lutino? If not then all 3 are hens! cheers

Hi Frank, as you read before this is the brood that has one dad but two mums, there were six chicks in total 3 normals and the three lutinos....the dad is a normal, one mum is a cinnamon and the other is a pearl pied, I lost one of the normal chicks the normal & the cinn are the bonded pair and the ever only have one lutino every second nest, so having the three lutinos this time is a first for me.

I had a 'salad bowl' too!!! One lutino hen that was mating with a bonded male while his woman was feeding the kids. She laid her eggs in three different boxes all up. One box had 10 eggs! Half died at birth or didn't hatch. She started doing it again after 4 weeks, so I had to remove her for a while. Hopefully now she will like her new mate I got for her. The only good thing was I was able to identify the males genetics from his offspring. I had a lutino baby like yours, with the darker pearling. I've since found out from Frank, it was lutino-platinum-pearl he's split to. It doesn't look as good on yellow as it does on white though.
