I have learnt not to give Dougal pens. I thought because he was so interested in them I would. I took the spent ink and the small metal spring out, put it back together and put it in his cage along with his toys and the spoon he likes to kill. The next morning the pen was in pieces in the bottom of his cage! He managed to rip it to shreads and I stood there with him telling me where to go collecting the pieces of pen and put them in the bin!

Wow Amanda, didn't realize his beak would be that sharp. I gave one to my ringie but all he did was play with it, & tell it off, but then again my ringies have that many toys I don't think they would have time to shred anything lol. Cheers Anna

Oh yeah! Never handle an angry Rosella. When we had to catch our other Rosella Awnan (post pics of him later) my Mum said she would. She was wearing gloves but he still managed to bite her little finger so hard it was swolen and purple for over a week!!

My dear departed Cheeky used to get very annoyed if I tried to complete a crossword. If he wasn't shredding the edge of the paper, he would be attempting to chew the end of the pen or at least take it out of my hand. And if that failed, he would do a poop right in the middle of the crossword. Your rosella is so beautiful. How old is he?
