Great pics Tara. So you decided to keep him afterall. Has he stopped his biting then as you said you were returning him as he was being aggressive. Cute looking Sunconure & such bright colours. I hope you will have many happy times with him. Cheers Anna

Anna i returned the one i had before he was 10 months old this beautiful boy is 10 weeks old.
Pollyparrot i know birds bite but i thought it wasn't normal for them to bite and draw blood every time you go to take them out of the cage and pat them. The 10 month old was that bad he bit everyone and everything for no reason at all he could be on your shoulder next minute his attached him to your finger. The only way you could get him off your finger is to force his beak open or blow very hard in his face.I did the shake the hand trick but did that he bit harder which was worse before he makes a deeper bite mark on your hand if you shake it.
This 10 week old i can pat him on his beak and he won't even try and bite.

I've found it's pointless to go around all the time cleaning the floor, the moment I do someone either poops on it or spreads their seed everywhere! So I do a once a week vac, no point doing anything more or less. If I did I'd never be able to spend time with them or do other things. I've read that if they bite you push your hand into their mouth. Apparantly pushing into their bite is something they don't expect and they let go. This has worked for me, but trying to deal with an aggressive bird just takes your tolerance and strength away. That's why I can sympathise with you, the only problem for me is that I have to wait up to 6 months because my problem bird is a licensed bird. I hope this baby is a nice natured bird for you. he is a cutie and photogenic!
